Prologue

Presence through structure

The Atelier of
Pattern & Atmosphere.

The studio is rooted in a formal understanding of repetition, scale, and spatial rhythm—an approach that positions pattern as structural language rather than decorative impulse.

Core Tenet

Pattern as structure, atmosphere, and spatial rhythm.

Foundational Doctrine

Edition Design House develops authored surface collections for interiors, bringing a fine-art sensibility to the structure of pattern.

Collections are conceived as cohesive systems rather than isolated motifs. Repetition, scale, hierarchy, and rhythm determine how each pattern holds across a surface and how the collection operates as a whole.

The work is guided by restraint, emotional range, and the belief that pattern can shape the atmosphere of a room without overwhelming it.

About the Founder

Jacqueline Lewis

Founder, Edition Design House

Jacqueline Lewis founded Edition Design House from a longstanding practice spanning art and design, and an enduring interest in the relationship between pattern and interiors.

Her work is grounded in composition, repetition, scale, and emotional atmosphere. Drawing from fine art, interiors, and surface design, she approaches pattern not as an isolated decorative element, but as part of the larger spatial experience.

Edition Design House brings these disciplines together through authored collections intended for thoughtful application across interior environments.

Structural Methodology

The Systemic Pillars

Four principles guide the development and evaluation of every collection.

01

Hierarchy

A collection requires visual order. Primary, supporting, and quieter elements work together rather than compete for attention.

02

Repetition

A pattern must strengthen through recurrence. Rhythm and interval determine how the work holds across a surface.

03

Scale

Scale determines presence. Motifs are considered in relation to surface, space, and viewing distance.

04

Atmosphere

Pattern shapes how a space feels. Colour, density, rhythm, and restraint work together to establish emotional character.

Pattern is not ornament.
It is the structure through which interiors endure.
